Alliance integrates IRT, eSource into single system

Clinical Ink and endpoint Clinical are integrating their respective eSource and IRT solutions to ease clinical trial site burden, say CEOs.

Chuck Harris, CEO, endpoint Clinical, told us the companies made the decision to form the alliance in response to the mounting challenges facing investigator sites as workloads increase.

Since investigator sites utilize both the IRT and eSource system to rely on the same patient data, we took the initiative to offer this combined solution through Clinical Ink’s SureSource eSource platform and endpoint’s PULSE IRT,” Harris said. “This now reduces the effort and risk of managing data across multiple platforms, helping to improve protocol execution.”

While systems integration is not a novel concept – eSource remains relatively new to the industry, according to Ed Seguine, CEO, Clinical Ink.

It’s unique because the tablet-based application is used to interact with the patient during their study visit, it’s not some PC in the corner of the room,” Seguine told Outsourcing-Pharma.com.

As he explained, by integrating the systems, sites can electronically record protocol-required source data while accessing IRT functionality through a single system during a patient visit.

We understand that the technology offerings in the industry need to continuously evolve to improve both sponsor and site efficiencies,” Harris added.

We want to ensure that the current burden placed on sites through each technology advancement is minimized by offering more efficient technology integrations that allow them to focus on what is most important – patient care,” he said.

Moving forward, Seguine said the alliance will continue to get stronger over time.
