New lab space to support CRO’s acceleration into 2018

Concept Life Sciences has added new laboratory space at its Alderley Park-based facility in Cheshire, UK to support discovery services growth.

According to the contract research organization (CRO) the new space increases its scientific capacity by more than 30%, adding 75 employees over two facilities with a total of 12,400 square feet.

Our growth of over 30% in the last 12 months and our acceleration into 2018 means we need to have continuing access to the right people and the right science,” Michael Fort, executive chairman of Concept Life Sciences told us. “The Alderley Park Campus will provide this capacity,” he added.

The Manchester-based company’s drug discovery services span medicinal chemistry, pharmacology screening, assay development, and ADME.

Building a presence in the heart of Alderley Park not only makes the company a very attractive place for the recruitment of world class scientists, but the new facility also sits within a leading scientific environment, giving us access to cutting-edge technologies which complement our core service offerings,” said Fort. “Alderley Park is the premier research hub in the north of England, close to existing lab facilities and Concept's HQ.”

The CRO also launched a US group in June 2016, at which time Fort told us the expansion was a natural progression. The US group offers various chemistry, biology, and analytical services.
