According to the company, the PRS solution uses proprietary anonymized identification technology for which it filed a patent in August of this year.
The solution queries electronic patient health records to identify potential clinical trial participants.
Established in 1804, Estonia-based Tartu University Hospital is the only university hospital in the country, receiving 400,000 outpatient visits and performing 40,000 inpatient treatments annually.
Currently, the hospital runs approximately 30 to 40 clinical trials per year, but has the capacity to up this number, Clinerion said in a press release.
Margus Ulst, chief medical officer of Tartu University Hospital explained that the partnership with Clinerion “will certainly bring Tartu more trials at the cutting edge of medical innovation.”
“With our partnership, we also hope to improve our data quality and harmonize our coding practices to international standards,” he said.
An expanding network
Earlier in November, the company also announced that the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Göğüs Kalp Damar Cerrahisi Eğitim Araştırma Hastanesi (IMAEH) hospital in Istanbul, Turkey joined its hospital network.
According to Clinerion, in 2018 IMAEH will have more than 600 beds, including 174 beds in an intensive care unit. As part of the company’s PRS, IMAEH adds more than 2m medical records and 260,000 patient lives to Clinerion’s network.
The network now provides access to approximately 150m patients with coverage in Europe, Asia, South America, and North America.
