Certara has acquired BaseCase Management GmbH, a data visualization company that helps sponsors communicate health economic evidence and product differentiation information.

Berlin, Germany-headquartered BaseCase is a software as a service (SaaS) solution company, which provides technology and consulting expertise to create customizable applications.

BaseCase has developed a simple-to-use content creation SaaS platform that supports the powerful visualization of complex models, data and analytics,” said Ellen Leinfuss, chief commercial officer of Certara.

This visualization solution is a native cloud-based application, which Certara plans to leverage in other parts of its business,” she told us, adding that the platform can be extended to visualize models built with any type of modeling technology.

According to the modeling and simulation company, the technology will soon be leveraged across Certara’s pharmacometrics, mechanistic modeling, and regulatory science platforms.

Currently, Leinfuss said the technology is used by pharmaceutical and medical technology companies “to create value propositions for communicating health economic evidence and product differentiation to market access decision-makers, health authorities and payers.”

The ability to quickly articulate the business case for a sponsor’s product is imperative to market success,” she added.

BaseCase – which also has offices in New York and Poland – will join Certara’s Strategic Consulting division. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
