Comprehend, a clinical intelligence software company, has packaged its clinical trial risk detection and management service offerings to accommodate the needs of mid-sized CROs.

The company’s Clinical Intelligence Platform (CIP) is aimed at supporting contract research organization’s (CROs) needs through analytics and continuous data aggregation. The platform also allows for CROs to adhere to ICH E6(R2), a guideline for good clinical practice.

Rick Morrison president and founder of Comprehend told us that the company’s newest offering is aimed at the needs of mid-sized CROs, which have been expected to provide an increasing amount of services.

Research has shown that there are about 6.5 data collection systems per study, making the margin of error and risk harder to manage during data analysis, explained Morrison

However, while larger CROs have invested in technology to simplify the increasing demands, mid-sized CROs are “in a bind,” he said.

To address this, Comprehend’s new offering includes a set of analytics and data monitoring that integrates with the CRO’s risk management programs for sponsors.

Morrison told us, “Our clinical intelligence platform is our core technology and solution. It is what brings the data together from the various systems that exist. It brings the data together, integrates it, digests it, and harmonizes it to make sure it works together on a unified study data model.”
