Clinerion is expanding access to international clinical studies with the help of the Georgian medical software company, Medsoft.

An electronic health record (EHR) systems supplier based in Tbilisi, Georgia, Medsoft is currently used by more than 40 hospitals and medical centers in the country. Its hospital information system (HIS), Medwork, is integrated with the Georgian Ministry of Health to enable information management for the health care community.

Under the partnership, Medsoft will support Clinerion in integrating Georgian hospitals into its Patient Network Explorer platform.

Clinerion will offer Medsoft hospitals access to its real-world data (RWD) solutions when running academic research. With access to this software, Medsoft hospitals will gain HIS capabilities to optimize protocols and identify eligible patients for trials within its hospitals.

“All hospital partners in our network will become more visible when our clients use our Patient Network Explorer platform and its protocol designer and site feasibility modules, which allow testing of protocol design and identification of sites with eligible patients, both based on the live population in our network,” said a Clinerion spokesperson.

Georgia-based First Hospital has already been added to Clinerion’s global network as of July 2018, but the company will continue to engage within the region.

The spokesperson told us that it sees Georgia as an “untapped potential for clinical research, with a high level of physician expertise and advanced facilities.”
