WuXi LabNetwork enters an agreement with Science Exchange enabling users to order compounds directly following an increased demand for specialty chemicals.

Users of the R&D offering marketplace, Science Exchange, will have access to WuXi LabNetworks offerings of materials synthetic building blocks, reagents, and other chemical needs.

A spokesperson for Science Exchange told us that users will be able to access WuXi’s system by “clicking a button on their Science Exchange profile page,” which will then direct them to WuXi’s LabNetwork’s native experience. When users submit an order through this system, the order will be put directly into existing infrastructure to transmit data back to Science Exchange.

“This integration is designed to leverage that technology while also reaping all of the benefits of working with Science Exchange directly,” the spokesperson added.

Many R&D organizations, including clients of Science Exchange, order R&D products and services through enterprise procure-to-pay (P2P) software systems like Ariba or Coupa which are integrated with Science Exchange.

Through the implementation of WuXi LabNetwork’s marketplace, Science Exchange will be able to provide enterprise P2P users access to WuXi’s services through the organization’s procurement systems. According to the spokesperson, this will extend WuXi LabNetwork’s reach to R&D organizations.
