ACTide is an online service developed by the Italian software developer, Nubilaria, that aims to facilitate collection and management of clinical data, in order to support acceleration of drug development projects.
Among its features, the platform allows for remote monitoring of patients, and can be applied on intervention and real-world trials as well as epidemiological surveys.
Nubilaria announced that access to the platform will be allowed free-of-charge for non-profit European healthcare and research organizations in order to assist developers in their fight against the pandemic.
Franco Schiannini from Nubilaria told us that the company made this decision, seeing researchers faceing significantly pressuring timeframes, to develop a safe and effective treatment for COVID-19.
“We pledge to support as many projects as it's plausibly possible for us to support with professionality and with all due attention,” said Schiannini, adding that since the announcement, the company has already received interest from developers looking to benefit from the offer.
Schiannini said that more service providers should follow this example, suggesting that this is already being witnessed within the industry.
Last week, ClinOne, the developer of a software platform aiming to facilitate patient recruitment, also announced that it will be offering its service complimentary to developers of COVID-19 vaccines.
