Tjoapack: acquisition of Pharma Packaging Solutions
Tjoapack: acquisition of Pharma Packaging Solutions

European pharma contract packaging firm Tjoapack has purchased Tennessee-based Pharma Packaging Solution. By purchasing the commercial packaging operation, Tjoapack is expanding its reach into the US market.

Dexter Tjoa, CEO of Tjoapack, said, “Both companies are known in the market for having a nimble, customer-centric mindset that translates into high service quality and flexibility in providing tailored solutions to complex client needs. Having operations in both the US and Europe will ensure that our customers’ products are available to patients that need them anywhere and anytime.”

Pharmaceutical packaging specialist Amcor has launched an enhanced-stock product program for its healthcare customers. It enables clients to order from a collection of DuPont Tyvek pouches and Breather Bag header bags, with low minimum-order quantities, suitable for products requiring cleanroom handling and strong puncture resistance.

High Purity New England: Purillex fluoropolymer bottles

High Purity New England has announced it is now offering Savillex Purillex PFA, FEP, and gamma sterilized ETFE bottles. According to the company, Purillex bottles are among the cleanest, safest, and highest-performing range of fluoropolymer bottles available.

The bottles are manufactured in a Class 7 cleanroom and are suitable for a range of applications. Sizes range from 50 mL and 2000 mL, in PFA, FEP, and gamma-sterilized ETFE.

MG America has announced the release of its Anritsu 10-lane 100% capsule checkweigher KWS9002AP10. Reportedly able to provide comprehensive weigh-check inspection for as many as 75,000 capsules per hour, the machine features a new capsule handling mechanism for feeding and rejection functionality.

According to the company, the Anritsu checkweigher offers weight measurement accuracy of +/- 0.5mg. The module offers user/domain authentication (user management) and conforms to international industry standards and regulations (FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GDP).

The SimpliFil syringe filling and assembly system is geared toward use in small- to medium-batch applications. It features a walking beam indexing configuration, intended to provide ease of operation and simplified, recipe-based changeover.

With the reported ability to process up to 36 syringes per minute, the product is capable of handling syringes with tips outfitted for press-on caps and luer caps, in addition to various safety caps recently incorporated for oral syringes. For post-capping marking applications, the company also offers an optional labeler that can wrap syringes with pre-printed labels or (with medications requiring variable marking) print individual labels per uploaded input.

Premium Label and Packaging Solutions has purchased Luminer Converting, which offers production of custom pressure-sensitive labels, booklet labels, and other products for the pharmaceutical and medical markets.

Luminer currently has manufacturing facilities in Lakewood, New Jersey, and Red Lion, Pennsylvania, with 60 employees on staff. Premium is headquartered in Rye, New York, and offers specialty label converting solutions, including pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging, and more.
