Small non-spill connector for chemicals
packaging industries, has launched a new non-spill connection to
meet smaller size requirements in the chemical and other
industries.
The product, called the NS4 Series Non-Spill Coupling, features a non-spill shut-off valve that the company claims enhances operator safety and speeds connection time. The non-spill coupling provides a lightweight, durable, compact and economical replacement for expensive metal non-spill couplings, ball valves, and spill-prone fittings.
The NS4 is the second in a new series of non-spill couplings introduced by Colder Products. As a smaller version of the recently announced NSH Series Non-Spill Coupling, the ¼" NS4 utilises a different non-spill valve design that is ideal for use in chemical delivery systems.
"There is a pressing need to eliminate spills of even a few drops when customer safety, mess and clean-up, costly media loss or customer perception is an issue," said Andy Hass, business unit manager, industrial markets at Colder Products. "The NS4 provides a non-spill, single-click connection that enables OEMs to increase the value of their equipment by combining a small coupling size with excellent flow characteristics."
As with all CPC connection solutions, the NS4 incorporates an easy-to-use thumb latch to allow for secure, single-handed operation. An audible 'click' confirms that a secure connection is made.
The main components of the NS4 are made out of glass-filled polypropylene with 316 stainless steel springs and EPDM or optional FKM o-ring seals, which provide high resistance to a wide variety of corrosive media. An olefinic overmoulding increases the durability of the connection and provides a better grip for users, claims the company.
The overmoulding can also be used for colour coding, which provides instant visual differentiation of diverse media lines.
Colder Products claims that the new non-spill connection can withstand operating pressures from vacuum to 120 psig (8.3 bar) and temperatures from 32oF to 120oF (0oC to 49oC). The coupling features terminations of 3/8" OD PTF compression; 1/8", 1/4" and 3/8" ID hose barb; and 1/4" male NPT thread and 1/4" male BSPT thread. Mounting options include in-line, pipe thread, and sealing panel mount.
