CPhI 2005 will add machinery expo

An estimated 20,000 delegates will visit the CPhI​ and sister show the International Contract Services Expo after it opens its doors tomorrow, which already makes it one of the largest events on the pharmaceutical calendar.

And in the build-up to the show, In-Pharmatechnologist.com - the official media partner for the event - has learned that next year will see the event expanded to include the hitherto missing link in the portfolio, a show dedicated to pharmaceutical manufacturing machinery.

The new P-MEC exhibition will run alongside the CPhI and ICSE at next year's event in Madrid, Spain, which has been brought forward to early October.

P-MEC will focus on all areas of the manufacturing process, from packaging machinery to labelling equipment and from instruments to distribution solutions, according to CMP Information, which organises the three shows. The exhibition will be aimed at manufacturing professionals, process engineers, production managers, packaging engineers and R&D professionals.

Pharmaceutical Innovation Awards​

As ever, the CPhI will be a showcase for the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), chemical, intermediate, excipient and drug formulation industries, and this year for the first time the show will feature product innovation awards.

These awards will provide an opportunity for exhibitors to present their newest, most innovative and highest valued research, technology and product that they have produced or announced recently. On the first day of the exhibition the award nominees will give a presentation during the Award Showcases Seminar, and In-Pharmatechnologist.com will be there to bring you the results.
