Romaco extends processing product range

Switzerland's Romaco has introduced a new laboratory scale product
that provides vacuum mixing, dispersion and homogenisation and
should be of particular value for formulation development in the
pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors.

The FrymaKoruma DinexLab is essentially a scaled-down version of the company's established Dinex vacuum mixer/disperser/homogeniser, which is used for .

Romaco says that the DinexLab is intended for the manufacture of a wide range of semi-solid products such as suspensions, emulsions and gels, and incorporates features that contribute to short batch times, repeatable high product quality and high containment.

In particular the system is suitable for complex formulations, according to the firm, as it offers an advanced homogenisation system that gives flexibility in matching the process cycle to the individual requirements of the product.

"The introduction of the DinexLab means that this technology is now available at laboratory scale (batch size 4-12 litres), for development and scale-up applications," said Romaco in a statement.

Meanwhile, Romaco has also introduced a new scraped surface heat exchanger, the FrymaKoruma SWT 15, designed for the rapid heating and cooling of viscous products or those whose viscosity changes during processing . The system has applications across the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food production industries and has been designed to fully comply with CIP (clean-in-place) requirements.
