Pipetting system answers lab's requirements
automation in small to medium sized laboratories. The system is
CyBio's response to academia and biotech research requirements for
a 96 well pipetting system.
The system aims to close the gap between hand held pipettes and fully automated assay systems. In addition, the system is designed for those facilities with a modest budget in mind where its daily throughput does not justify an expensive high-end system.
A library of ready to use test routines enables to perform reagent, sample and mother-daughter plate transfers, dilution of samples, exchange of culture media in cell culture plates and wash routines. All pipetting parameters have been carefully set for optimal results.
The system is operated by a graphical user interface and does not require any previous knowledge in liquid handling or programming. The compact system has three plate positions and supports 96 position shallow well microplates.
It can be used in most commercially available sterile hoods. The disposable tips can be changed or washed according to user requirement.
A spokeswoman for CyBio told DrugResearcher.com: "The system is suitable for all transfers in and to shallow 96 well plates. This includes mother-daughter transfers, reagent additions, sample dilutions and change of media in cell culture plates. The system is designed to do one plate at a time with predefined protocols."
The automation market in Life Science Industry is growing. However within this huge market there are areas that are in decline. In addition, there are areas that are more or less stable and some areas that are growing rapidly. Furthermore looking at the worldwide market especially in Asia there is a growing demand for automation.
The system is especially aimed on people doing cell culture work and smaller numbers of plates per day as well as newcomers to automation in small to medium sized laboratories. The precise 96-channel liquid handling device offers high user comfort and an excellent cost-performance ratio.
CyBio's CyBi-SmartWell is the latest system that adds to CyBio's range of pipetting systems. The system is similar to CyBi-Well and CyBi-Well vario systems, but lacks its versatility and modularity to keep costs down.
"Special care was taken to create ready to go protocols. Therefore the system can be set-up and run by anybody without being trained. The system will optimise all movements and liquid handling steps automatically," the spokeswoman added.
