Verum.de targeting North American sponsors interested in trials in CEE
The contract research organisation (CRO) - which opened an office in Carlsbad, California earlier this month told Outsourcing-pharma.com com it is “trying to attract US and North American pharma and biotech clients who need assistance with running clinical trials in Eastern Europe and former Soviet bloc countries.
“We are happy to discuss the advantages of running trials in Eastern Europe with any companies who are looking to complete trials quickly and affordably.”
The firm also cited the high concentration of biotechnology companies in California – more than 700 plus firms according to industry group Biocom - as attractive pool of potential customers.
Finally, Verum.de has hired industry veteran Kristi Clark – whose CV lists stints at Quintiles, Parexel and Synteract – to head up the new office, which was another factor in its decision to set up near San Diego.
“We wanted Kristi Clark to head up the office; Kristi is very accomplished and has both Central Eastern European and American experience in both large and mid-sized CROs. She considers San Diego County her home base so it was logical to go there.”
