Yusen opens GDP logistics facility at Amsterdam airport
The temperature controlled site at Amsterdam Schipol will handle drug products and raw materials, including vaccines, biologics and antibiotics, and has a cold store unit of 125m2 consisting of 45 pallet positions.
The facility was built on the back of customer demand for Good Distribution Practice (GDP) compliant logistics and, according to the firm, will form the heart of Yusen’s global pharma distribution system by linking Yusen’s Antwerp (Belgium) import/export consolidation centre and European central warehouse.
“We shall work to support and maintain our strong relationships with our pharmaceutical manufacturer customers into the future, as they continue to develop ever more sophisticated products,” Yusen’s President Hiromitsu Kuramoto said at the facility’s inauguration ceremony.
“I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank them all for entrusting us with their products. We never forget that at the end of the supply chain, there is a patient.”
