Labtronics launches Nexxis LAB addition
of products, promising complete automation to a whole host of
manual procedures as well as security features that make it ideally
suited to the controlled pharmaceutical environment.
The Nexxis ST provides small to medium sized laboratories with an affordable system for storing and tracking test results, offering a secure automated system that provides users throughout the lab with direct on-line access to sample information.
Users can log in their samples, assign tests to the samples and record the sample results in the Nexxis ST database. Samples can be entered singly or as batches. Tests can be arranged in groups to simplify the assigning of tests to samples. Sample results can be entered manually or Nexxis methods can collect data directly from laboratory instruments and automatically populate the result database.
A spokesman for Labtronics told DrugResearcher.com: "Nexxis was developed to allow laboratories to collect data from instruments such as balances and pH meters. Nexxis is an n-tier scaleable platform that includes electronic signatures, password protection, audit trail, etc, making it suited to a pharmaceutical setting."
The Nexxus ST is the latest additon to the Nexxis LAB stable of products, which as a fully integrated laboratory automation system includes modules for Chemical Inventory Management, Calibration Management and Balance Automation.
By integrating all of these applications into one system, laboratories using Nexxis LAB can significantly save over the cost of purchasing separate applications.
"Nexxis LAB includes the functionality required to meet regulatory requirements such as 21 CFR Part 11. It has widespread application in the drug discovery/pharmaceutical environment," he added.
Typical applications that could be automated include automate analysis on any RS232 or TCP/IP instrument that does not already have a data system, e.g. balances, pH meters and hardness testers, track, schedule and carry out instrument calibrations and Interface directly to LIMS and other database systems
The spokesman added: "We see a particularly significant return for customers in the drug discovery environment where development of a single product can eventually generate $1 billion (€830 million) per year in revenue. Being able to reduce a 10 year testing/proving cycle by even 6 months can generate an extra return of over $500 million."
There really are no products that offer the extent of automation that Nexxis provides. Nexxis also has a tremendous edge over other automation applications in that it is completely configurable. Laboratories can use Nexxis LAB out of the box or they can configure it to exactly meet their requirements.
Nexxis ST is available now from Labtronics, with the Nexxis LAB priced at under $20,000 (€16 600).
