Velocity Clinical Research adds new OR-based site
Medical Director Kevin Parks, MD, will lead the new site in Grants Pass, OR. He previously worked at a different Velocity site in Medford, OR, the Clinical Research Institute of Southern Oregon (CRISOR).
Velocity Clinical Research officially launched in February of this year following the acquisition of three US-based sites, including CRISOR, as well as New Horizons Clinical Research (NHCR) in Cincinnati, OH, and FL-based MD Clinical.
The organization plans to expand globally and become one of the leading site groups in the world, CEO Paul Evans told us at the time.
Evans said, “We chose the Grants Pass location because of its proximity to our existing Medford, Oregon site. It is close enough to Medford that we can support the site when necessary from Medford, but sufficiently far enough away that we are tapping into a new patient population."
In line with the company's overall strategy, the site will not be therapeutically focused but will have a "broad internal medicine base," Evans told us.
"The key is to identify protocols that look for patients that can be identified in the general community and for whom we can identify a way to reach out to those patients at an appropriate point in their care pathway," he added. "That could be through our own database, direct-to-patient outreach or through their primary physician."
